About Us
This facility was started in November 1987, by two volunteer doctors from Ireland. With time due to challenges of sustainability, it has been handed down to many different congregations, and currently it is under the management of the Dimesse sisters. The name of the facility is St. Joseph the Worker Dispensary, but the service level is a health Centre at level 3B.
The health facility is owned by the Archdiocese of Nairobi, and the Dimesse sisters manage it on their behalf.
Our Services
Currently, we offer outpatient services, and in patient.
On average, we serve over 1500 patients per month in the different clinics.
Personalized medical assessments and treatment.
Accurate diagnostic testing.
Access to essential medications
Procedures including extractions, root canals, fillings, scaling, and dentures.
Rehabilitation and recovery services.
- ANC/MCH Clinics for maternal and child health.
- Mental Health Clinics for emotional well-being.
- Diabetes and Hypertension Management Clinics.
- Comprehensive care clinic for people living with HIV/AID
- Eye, ENT, and Urology Clinics (periodical services).
Purpose and Impact
Impact: The facility is highly appreciated by the community in Kangemi, and has benefited many people over the years, thanks to God who has sustained it, and to many partners for their support.
Purpose: To provide affordable, quality primary healthcare to the vulnerable population living in nun-formal settlements of Kangemi and its environs. Service to the community is service to God.
Through these activities, we bring hope, faith, and unity to the lives we touch.
