Holistic opportunity to the children

Talitha Kum Hands to Serve Trust (Children’s Home) is a religious-community based organization that provides a hybrid of institutional and community care to HIV positive orphaned and vulnerable children who cannot find immediate placement within the target community social safety nets. The word “Talitha Kum” is derived from the Bible (Mark 5:41), which means “Little girl arise”. The Home aspires to provide holistic opportunity to the children to celebrate life every new day thus the name Talitha Kum Children’s Home.

They supervise and give direction to a team of staff and volunteers working in the Home towards realization of the Home mission, goal, objectives and activities. The Home is managed by a Board of Management who are volunteers from the community and also has five (5) trustees.

Progress So Far

We are a home serving 104 orphaned children and youths. The Home has managed to reintegrate 80 children complying the government’s regulations of moving towards family solutions. We are supporting the said children and youth with education, medication, food and livelihood support to the families. We guide them to maturity as they discover their own way in life. In the process, they give meaning to our lives and teach us about what matters most.
